China Quality Association report: New energy vehicles have more obvious advantages over fuel vehicles in the intelligent sector

The China Quality Association released the 2024 user satisfaction index evaluation results of China's new energy vehicle industry in Beijing. The main categories of this evaluation include plug-in hybrid cars, plug-in hybrid SUVs, extended-range SUVs, pure electric cars, pure electric SUVs and pure electric MPVs. The evaluation objects are the 100 brand models with the largest sales in 2024, involving 32 automobile manufacturers and 40 automobile brands across the country.

The evaluation results show that new energy vehicles have more obvious advantages than fuel vehicles in the intelligent sector. In terms of performance design, intelligent driving assistance and intelligent cockpit performance design satisfaction rank among the top two in the new energy vehicle industry. In terms of quality and reliability, the number of failures (problems) of intelligent new energy vehicles (including intelligent cockpits and intelligent driving assistance) was 27 times, and that of fuel vehicles was 85 times. In 2024, the number of failures in 100 new vehicles in China's new energy vehicle industry will be 91, a year-on-year decrease.

Good car performance, high comfort, and high quality and reliability are the top three reasons for buying a car.

Among them, "high quality and reliability" has increased for three consecutive years, and the gap between the mention rate and the first "good car performance" has narrowed from 16 percentage points in 2022 to 6 percentage points in 2024.

The mention rate of "manufacturer with good reputation" increased by 5 percentage points year-on-year, ranking first among the 20 factors that users consider when purchasing a car. This shows that users are paying more and more attention to quality, and at the same time they are paying more and more attention to corporate reputation.

The China Quality Association has organized and carried out user satisfaction evaluation of China's new energy vehicle industry for 10 consecutive years. The evaluation index system is constructed from five dimensions: overall satisfaction evaluation, quality reliability evaluation, performance design evaluation, after-sales service and sales service evaluation.
