What does the tpms light mean and how to solve it
What does a bright tpms light mean? The tire pressure monitoring system (Tpms) is called the tire pressure monitoring system (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), which means the tire pressure monitoring system in Chinese. If this light appears on the car, it means that one of the car's tires has low air pressure. Don't be nervous at this time, slow down slowly, and then slowly pull over and stop at a low speed. Then check the tire pressure.
If it is best to have an inflation tool on the car, you can inflate the car tires one by one. if there is not. You can drive slowly, find the nearest repair shop or wait for help. If the tpms light comes on again the next day, it usually means a bad tire. However, it is also possible that there is a problem with the tire pressure sensor, causing the pressure measurement to be inaccurate.
Types of tire pressure detection
1. Tire pressure direct monitoring
One is direct tire pressure monitoring, which uses a pressure sensor installed on each tire to directly measure the tire pressure, and then uses a wireless transmitter to send the pressure information to a central receiver module, which then displays the tire pressure data. When the tire pressure is too low or air leaks, the system will automatically alarm.
2. Indirect tire pressure monitoring
When tire air pressure is reduced, the weight of the vehicle causes the wheel to roll over a smaller radius, causing it to spin faster than the other wheels. By comparing the speed difference between car tires, the purpose of monitoring tire pressure can be achieved. The indirect tire warning system actually monitors the air pressure by calculating the tire rolling radius.
Both types of tire pressure monitoring have their pros and cons. Direct tire pressure monitoring can measure the actual instantaneous pressure inside each tire at any time, making it easy to identify faulty tires. Of course, the cost will be more expensive. Indirect tire pressure monitoring is relatively cheap, and cars with 4-wheel ABS only need a software upgrade. However, indirect tire pressure monitoring devices are not as accurate as direct systems and cannot identify faulty tires.
